Description: HB 2562 also temporarily resolves issues sur-rounding fees for eCourt filings. The judicial department’s initial proposal was to allow the Chief Justice to set fees. The department circu-lated a proposed schedule that would have re-quired a fee for each electronic filing, and either a subscription or a per view fee to look at docu-ments online. The bill that ultimately passed increases some filing fees by five percent and dedicates the revenue to a fund for maintenance of the electronic court system. This part of the bill takes effect on October 1, 2013 and sunsets June 30, 2014. |
